Located on two hectares of land in Tbilisi National Park, the Zoological Center cares for wild animals that spent years living in harsh conditions across Georgia—confined to small enclosures or kept chained.
The center was established in 2010 to rescue animals held illegally in captivity, including endangered species. Today, Caucasian brown bears, grey wolves, and foxes live here in specially designed enclosures. Some of them were previously kept for entertainment in restaurants, hotels, and circuses.
Unfortunately, returning predators raised in captivity to the wild is almost impossible. The Zoological Center therefore provides them with a safe environment, proper care, and better living conditions.
