About the event
The Qvevri and Qvevri Wine Museum is a unique space that introduces visitors to the entire winemaking process in a qvevri. The museum was founded in 2014 by Gia and Gela Gamtkitsulashvili.
The museum brings together 5 exhibition spaces, an 8-meter qvevri monument, and a traditional wine cellar. It features exhibits on qvevri wine, a collection of aged wines from Twins Wine House, archival photo materials, and information about Georgian grape varieties, qvevri, the wine cellar, and the traditional winepress.
While visiting the museum, guests travel through the world of Georgian wine traditions, discover its history, and become part of the winemaking process.
The museum's main exhibit consists of three 500-liter qvevris, each cut open by one-third and covered with glass. Through them, visitors can observe different stages of winemaking, including grape pressing, fermentation, self-clarification, natural filtration, and the extraction of wine and chacha.
Along with visiting the museum, you can purchase a wine and chacha tasting package, which includes tasting 5 types of wine and 2 types of chacha.
